Makers' Festival

From old-school craftsmanship like leather crafting to mind-bloggling technology like virtual reality, there's plenty to set your thinking, get your making, and make you go 'Hmmm...", 'Aha!' and 'Wowww!'. It's immersive, interactive, inspiring and great FUN for your friends and family! Come explore The Makers' Festival that consists of the Makers' Block (L1 Atrium), Makers' Workshops (Throughout Mall) and the Makers' Marketplace (B2). Starts 7 Oct 2016.

What is the Makers' Festival?
With over 30 different professional makers and over 35 different technology demos, workshops and do-it-yourself activities, the Makers' festival is a 3 -part, many tentacled extravaganza of creativity and interactivity.  The festival consists of the Makers' Block (L1 Atrium), Makers' Workshops (Throughout Mall) and the Makers' Marketplace (B2).

From old-school craftsmanship like leather crafting to mind-bloggling technology like virtual reality, there's plenty to set your thinking, get your making, and make you go 'Hmmm...", 'Aha!' and 'Wowww!'.

THE MAKERS' BLOCK

Level 1, The Atrium

A whole host of professional makers will be showcasing their inventions and skills at the main atrium. From indoor kite flying and drone challenges to making our rubber band guns, be a part of this explosion of art, engineering, technology and creativity!

Other awesome things you can do include making your own cardboard furniture, making holograms come to life, making leather wallets and printing your own T-Shirts and Bags! Oh yes, did we mention taking part in a super-cool Drone Competition with your friends?

A man of many talents and skills, fanatical prolific maker Marc shares a DIY hologram kit that anyone can use and make to create amazing 3D images from 2D materials. So yes, optical illusions really do exist!
