It all started when Italian founder, Sergio Bracci, after an extensive career in the world of hospitality, decided to venture and further his prospects in the town of Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain. From a small town in Italy, he travelled to Spain in 1972 with a pizza oven on top of his Fiat 500 and a truckload of Italian products and ingredients that, at that time, were not commonly found in Spain. His mission was to share with people the warm and wholesome feeling of tucking in to a home cooked meal by your “Mamma”, in an inviting and cosy atmosphere.
In 1972, the first pizzeria “O Mamma Mia” in Fuengirola was born. Following this astounding success, stores were opened in Torremolinos, Malaga, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz, and etc. This grew to a total of 11 pizzerias which were all well received by locals. 20 years later, in 1992, Sergio Bracci launched sister concept, Mamma Mia Sapore Italiano, a fresher, fastservice kiosk concept. In less than a year, Mamma Mia Sapore Italiano opened numerous stores in the main Spanish cities bringing the tastiest and most varied selections of authentic Italian pizzas and pastas.
